We last left our scoundrels in the parlor of Adelaide Phroaig, a noble contact of the crew, where Marv, AKA: the Smooth Operator and the Slide within the Wet Bandits crew, was romancing one Volette Helker. During his wooing, Marv discovered that the contents of Volett's family vault contains some strange artifact from the Deathands.
Prior to this, the crew took on a job given to them by Marv's vice purveyor. The job entailed finding the contents of the Helker family vault, along with the combination of the vault. Once the contents of the vault are found, there may be an opportunity to steal the contents.
Marv went in swaggering and quickly swept Volette off her pretty feet; like the scoundrel he is.
The crew's target, Volette, would be at a party hosted by Adelaide. With the crew suited up and ready, they made their entrance and quickly set to working on their task. Reginald, AKA: Red Eye, and Cleras, AKA: Gumby, were able to divert the attention of the couple who was chatting up their target (Arden and Carissa Boden), while Marv went in swaggering and quickly swept Volette off her pretty feet; like the scoundrel he is.
While playing the role of distractor for Marv, Cleras, with the help of Reginald, slipped the Boden's a drug within their Champaign, causing them to fall into a trance, causing the victims to be more susceptible to suggestion. While under the influence of this drug, Cleras was able to ascertain that the Boden's were friends with the Helker family, were in the fire arms business and researching the use electroplasm to enhance the potency of their weaponry.
