We last left our dastardly quartet recovering from an almost disastrous boondoggle of a revenge scheme. Prior to this, after celebrating - yet another - successful heist. The members of the Wet Bandits - feeling rather cocksure and high on life, decided it was a rather splendid time to destroy the lives of someone else; specifically the McCallisters. However, the McCallisters, being rather crafty and clever family, found out about the crews scheming and decided to nip it in the bud by sending out a wrecking crew to deal with the would be saboteurs.
Foot note: Barron McCalister, great- great grandfather to John McCalister, was known as the most cutthroat mining owner in all of the empire's history. As he was know to crush worker unionization and his competitors by using crews for assassination and infiltration.
Luckily for the Wet Bandits, they caught wind of the McCalister's plans and were able to pre-pare for the arrival of the wrecking crew. Deciding it was better to go big, than to stay home, the Wet Bandits decided to detonate the exterior of their lair and - not to waste a good opportunity - to pin it on the McCalisters ta boot. Reginald prepared the explosives to rig once one of the wrecking crew entered any of the entrances around the row house. Along with the explosions, he made it so the meckwerk crab that was salvaged from the last time their property was targeted, would be found; and all the body parts of the wrecking crew.
Unfortunately, a clever use of a relic turned into a horrifying tragedy for the mother of a young girl.
With everything set, the Wet Bandits made their way to the Nosey Maiden for drinks. When the trap was finally sprung, the crew was able to see the smoke and hear the eco of the explosion from the Nosey Maiden. Feeling smug, the crew went to their lair to see the aftermath and the gawking crowd of people. All seemed to go as expected, except for one small thing.
While the other crew as acting shocked and awed by the explosion, Clearas noticed that one of the wrecking crew members was getting up and making a break for it. Not to be out witted by simple thugs of muscle, the Wet Bandits pre-pared for a contingency such as this one. Working to together and harrying the poor sap, Reginald was able to zero in and trip up the bastard thug and drop him to the ground. The thug was not going down without a fight and a tussle began. Reginald did his best, but the wrecking crew thug was able to get in a lucky blow that brought stars ringing around his head.
Clears, feeling rather adventurous, decided to try out a new relic he acquired. Raising his fish hook, he called down a bolt of lightning down on the thug. Unfortunately, the thug - while in the process of electrocution - stumbled on to a nearby lady passerby, spreading on the lighting to her; frying both individuals in the process.
Unfortunately, a clever use of a relic turned into a horrifying tragedy for the mother of a young girl. The young girl, clearly saw Clearas as the culprit, accused him on the spot. With that accusation, along with sobbing, hysterical mess of a girl, a mob started to form around Clearas. Seeing this a way to divert attention from Clearas to the McCalisters, Graticar and Marv attempted to sway the crowd. The attempt backfired and amplified the attention to Clearas; though, the mob did think that he was part of the McCalister family.
With an angry mob rushing to pummel Clears, Marv, acting quickly, was able to disguise him and direct the mob down a road, allowing Clears to make an escape. After a bit of time, the mob dissipated after a bit time and forgetting why they were angry in the first place. The Wet Bandits were again able to slink away and back into the shadows of the ever night.
A day later, the crew reads in the headlines: "Mining Mogul family, McCallister, suspected of murder!"
Three days after the scathing news announcement, during the investigation of the explosion, authorities find the planted evidence. Through the crew's info brokers, they heard Arden Industries and the McCallisters were summoned for questioning a day later.
A week later it was reported the McCallister's lost several Ore contracts.
Foot note, John, the neighbor next store, died of a heart attack after the explosion. Edith, John's wife, died in the first explosion that had occurred. When his body was found, it had been over two weeks and his cats had began eating his corpse. It is probable that he became an angry ghost.
